Registration Open for 2017 GCA Conference
Registration is now open for the 87th Annual Georgia Communication Association Conference, to be held February 17-18, 2017 at Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia.
Online Conference Registration
Like previous years, the registration process is online, but this is the first year that registration will be handled through the backend member management system. This means that, unlike prior year registration processes, you do not have to manually select a member or nonmember rate. If your membership is active as of the date of the conference, you will automatically be allowed to register at the reduced member rate.
You can access the registration page by clicking the “Registration” menu option under the “2017 Conference” menu. If the registration page is not offering the member rate, then your membership likely expires at the end of 2016. To see your membership expiration date, log in to the site and visit the “Member Registration” page. Of course, to be eligible for the member rate, you must be logged into the site.
Students are eligible for the free conference rate after registering for the $10 student GCA membership for 2017.
Membership Registration/Renewal and Logging In
Most members who have active 2016 memberships already have accounts on the GCA site. These accounts are tied to the email address provided to GCA upon their last membership signup. In order to log in to the GCA site for the first time, you’ll need to do a password reset. Simply click on the “Log In” menu option on the GCA homepage, then click the “Forgot your password” link at the bottom of the login page. This will allow you to have a link sent to your email to set up your first password.
Once you have established a password and are logged into the site, you can go to the “Member Registration” page and renew your membership. When logged in, you can see the current expiration date of your membership on this page. If your membership expires at the end of 2016, you will be unable to register for the 2017 conference at the member rate.
Updating Your Profile
When renewing your membership or registering for the conference, you will have the ability to update your profile, which includes your contact information. You can also update this information at any other time by accessing the “Update Profile” page, which is only available if you are logged in.
